born to a middle class catholic family in 1989, annora had a rather average, almost picturesque upbringing. she was the type of child who disappeared often, especially from school, and somehow managed to survive until dinner - unfortunately, this would last well into her teenaged years, and get her into quite a lot of trouble. annora loved to read and was moderately obsessed with edgar allan poe, the dalemark quartet, stephen king, animorphs, and the chronicles of narnia. books were her way of escaping her drab surroundings when she wasn't off starting trouble, or setting half the yard on fire during drought conditions. she relied heavily on the support of her older brother, jamie, to the point where she put herself in risky situations with the expectation that he would be able to bail her out (see: "don't you dare or i'll get my older brother out here!"). when he moved out at the age of 17, she was only 14, and learned the difficult way that she couldn't rely on her parents or sibling to get her out of trouble or keep the fire contained.

after struggling to get through secondary school in an all-girls catholic institution, she graduated toward the bottom of her class and flew out of her parent's house and straight to dublin. it was there she lived with her aunt for a year until she was 19, when she moved into a flat with two of her cousins. between the age of 19 and 22 she was sucked into the local party scene, worked odds and ends jobs, and experimented with music in her freetime with her brother as an outlet/distraction from partying too much. annora had always loved singing, and with some encouragement from friends and family, they began to seriously pursue the idea that would eventually become royal hearts. the time, energy, and discipline it required for annora to cultivate their music successfully dragged her from her immature party animal behavior, and gave her a positive challenge with which to commit.

between 2011 and 2012, royal hearts released exclusive downloads and were noticed immediately by prominent independent music blogs, jetisoning them into the spotlight in 2013 as they picked up tours with well-known, beloved artists, and saw their tracks featured in films, video games, and television series. annora felt grateful for their hard work paying off, but never expected the stress of their newfound popularity to take such a toll on her mental health and relationship with her brother, who she had to balance a familial and professional relationship with suddenly. rumors spread like wildfire, and their disdain for one another on tours made stage crews and tour hands cringe in every city. their behavior has caused many to compare them to the infamous gallagher brothers of oasis, including, but not limited to, cryptic (and not-so-cryptic) offensive tweets and instagram updates, awkward interviews, and stories of their silence backstage. it isn't always this way for them, however, and when they are given a break from having to be around each other, they become much more like family and less like warring co-workers.

in 2016, royal hearts continues to promote their 2015 album, every open eye, and has vaguely referenced plans for future releases. annora remains largely out of the public eye when royal hearts isn't touring or recording due to their c-list popularity status, where she has fallen in and out of old partying habits, mental health episodes, and weeks spent curled up in her apartment in london playing video games and ordering grocery deliveries.
